Normal Clothes During Pregnancy

If you are addicted to shopping, the idea of expecting a baby will already be exalting you: not only will you have to think about all the layette, but also take care of your changing body and adjust the wardrobe. But if you hate shopping or still don’t want / can spend money on maternity clothes, here are some tips for using normal clothes during pregnancy.
Why Wear Normal Clothes When Pregnant
Maternity dresses are very comfortable and often cute, but also very expensive. Many people have embraced a greener, zero-waste lifestyle and may disagree with buying clothes that would be used for a limited time and then maybe never again. Also, buying dresses moreover it means spending, having to make room in the wardrobe, and still having to be satisfied because maybe there are no maternity pieces that meet your tastes. For these reasons, wearing everyday clothes could be a winning choice.
What Normal Clothes To Use Even In Pregnancy
However, we must admit that not all items of clothing are good during the nine months, both for a matter of size (the belly – and not only! – grows) and practicality. However, you will be amazed to know that most of them are actually okay!
Stretch Dresses
Stretch dresses, without buttons or zippers, can be used throughout pregnancy, in any season. If they are made of wool, they can be combined with an open cardigan and opaque tights, perhaps those that relieve swollen legs. Pay attention to the length: if they are very short, as the belly grows they will shrink further!
Leggings And Sweatpants
Unless they are too high-waisted, the soft pants can be used throughout pregnancy, putting the elastic at the bottom, under the belly. They are comfortable both staying at home and going out on errands.
Sweaters And Sweaters
Everything that is stretchy (or knitted ) usually adapts well to the shape of the body but be careful: as for clothes, take into account the length, because as the belly grows the shirts get shorter! Cardigans, on the other hand, are ideal for pregnancy: you can leave them open or close them with a scarf or belt on the hips or under the breast.
Empire Dresses
Particularly used in summer, the empire dresses are identical to those of the maternity collections, because they do not have seams on the belly but under the breast. Those made of fabric that is too stiff are not suitable, as there may be no room for the breast or they may tighten to the chest.
What Can No Longer Be Worn During Pregnancy

However, there are some clothes that it is really possible to wear, especially in the later months. Here are some examples:
- jeans: if you are a lover of jeans, perhaps it would be better to invest in a maternity model, because already from the second month you may find it difficult to get into the old ones or in any case experience belly discomfort
- coats: if you have baggy coats there is no problem, as well as if you like to leave them open, but if you suffer from the cold you may need a new coat
- anoraks: as above, when the belly grows you may need a few more sizes, maybe you can use that of your partner
- shoes: there are no maternity shoes, but there are feet of future mothers that swell, so you may need a new pair of sneakers!
Pregnancy can be an opportunity to go shopping, but maternity clothes are not an obligation: you can wear normal clothes for all nine months, eliminating only the tight, rigid, or tight-fitting clothes.
